Weiner, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — March 18, 2025 — The couple named in the death of a Weiner child are facing new charges, the Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

When 30-year-old Sharece Scott and 31-year-old Ridge Noel were arrested March 14, they each were initially charged with one count of 1st degree endangering the welfare of a minor, although the Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office said it would announce additional charges soon.

According to a news release from the Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office, both Scott and Noel are charged with the following:

  • Five counts of endangering the welfare of a minor
  • Battery 1st Degree
  • Battery 2nd Degree
  • Manufacturing a controlled substance (Schedule VI)
  • Simultaneous possession of firearms and drugs
  • Theft by receiving
  • Possession with intent to deliver (Schedule VI)
  • Possession with intent to deliver (Schedule IV)
  • Unlawful use of a communication device

Judge Ron Hunter set bond for Scott at $500,000 cash-only. Noel’s bond was set at $350,000 cash-only. Both are being held in the Poinsett County Detention Center.

The sheriff’s office said in a news release it is working with the Medical Examiner to determine the child’s cause of death, and that investigation remains ongoing. It added that more information will be released when it becomes available.

The sheriff’s office initially said it was searching for Scott on March 13 regarding a “suspicious death.” Scott was taken into custody March 14 at 1:43 a.m.
