Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – March 13, 2025 – A regional outbreak of severe storms is likely in the Mid-South and over the Lower/Mid-Missouri/Mississippi Valleys and Lower Ohio Valley late Friday afternoon into Saturday morning.

Tornadoes, several of which could be strong, widespread damaging winds with gusts from 70 to 90 mph, and scattered large hail up to baseball size will be possible according to the Severe Weather Outlook issued by the National Severe Storms Forecast Center.

The National Weather Service predicts the timeline for arrival of storms in Northeast Arkansas to occur most likely between 6-8 p.m. Friday with the earliest arrival being around 5 p.m.

Forecasters believe the development of storms in Northeast Arkansas will be more isolated than widespread. However, because the atmosphere will be unstable and favorable for severe weather development, storms could become intense quickly.

Residents are urged to be “weather aware” through the late afternoon hours on Friday.
