Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — March 11, 2025 — The date for the monthly low-cost pet vaccination clinic has been set.
The clinic is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 22. The location will be provided upon registration. Pre-registration ends at noon on March 19.
Vaccinations available include rabies, a canine 5-in-1, Bordetella, and a feline 3-in-1. Each vaccination is $10. A heartworm test will be offered for $10 as well.
Executive Director at Northeast Arkansans for Animals Wannda Turner said the clinic’s location isn’t provided until individuals pre-register their pets because walk-ins are not accepted.
“Individuals must pre-register each pet so we will have necessary paperwork ready when the client and pets arrive,” she said.
The clinics are sponsored in collaboration between Northeast Arkansans for Animals (NAFA) Rescue and Jonesboro Animal Services (Animal Control) and there is always a licensed veterinarian on site. Dr. Laura Dacus is currently the veterinarian at the low-cost clinics.
Turner added that monthly low-cost clinics began in October 2006 and have continued with 10-11 clinics per year.
“The clinics help pet owners get necessary vaccinations and heartworm testing,” Turner said. “This helps people in economic areas who cannot afford the cost of a regular veterinary clinic visit. Equally important is the fact that our community is safer and healthier.”
