Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Feb. 28, 2025 – The deadline to register for the second annual NEA Divine Intervention’s Kickball Tournament is coming up in March.
The registration deadline for players and teams will be Friday, March 7, and will be $5 per individual or $50 for teams of ten players. To register call 870-206-8406. Players will receive a T-shirt, and trophies will be given to first, second and third place winners.
There are still five slots open for teams of 10.
The tournament itself will be held April 19, beginning at 10 a.m. and continuing until all games are over, at the Joe Mack Campbell Park in Jonesboro. General admission for those not participating is $5.
“We actually want to get the community together so that we can all have fun,” said Shalinda Woolbright, NEA Divine Intervention founder and executive director.
The tournament doubles as a fundraiser to help Divine Intervention assist individuals struggling with substance and health issues, as well fund the upcoming NEA Divine Intervention Women’s and Children’s Residential Facility.
“We just got a new building for women and children so these funds will be going to open this facility,” Woolbright said. “The women will stay long as they got the DHS custody. It will be a place where they can build a foundation once they get their kids. They’ll move to the transitional housing, and they’ll be able to stay in that housing with support transportation and all that stuff in the big house with their kids.”
The new complex is scheduled to open around mid-June. It will feature an 18,000 square foot foundation house and a gym on 16 wooded acres in Turrell, Arkansas. For more information about the peer-based recovery center, visit the NEA Divine Intervention website.
