Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Feb. 21, 2025 – A Smithville man was given a $150,000 bond after being accused of aggravated residential burglary in Jonesboro.
On Feb. 18 around 9 a.m., Jonesboro Police Department officers were sent to a home on Jefferson Avenue regarding an assault. When they arrived, they met with two victims, a man and a woman. The woman had a child with the reported suspect, 41-year-old Shawn Brown, according to the probable cause affidavit.
The woman told officers she’d left the home she shared with Brown and came to the home on Jefferson Avenue where her friend lives. According to the affidavit, after the woman arrived, Brown showed up and forced entry through the locked front door, damaging the door frame.
Once inside, Brown reportedly rushed the woman, but a male victim got between them. Brown began attacking him, which resulted in small cuts to the victim’s face, the affidavit said.
Brown later left the home and was arrested at 10:11 a.m.
Brown was charged with one count of aggravated residential burglary, one count of 3rd degree battery and one count of assault on a family or household member. He was given a $150,000 cash or surety bond and a no-contact order with the victims. His next court date is April 24 and he’s being held in the Craighead County Detention Center.
