Johnny Randal Mathis, age 53, of Paragould, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, Arkansas. Johnny was born on December 25, 1970, to Paul David and Brenda Faye Mathis in Paragould.
Johnny retired from Cyient, after working seventeen years in computer drafting. He was a devout Christian and enjoyed translating the Hebrew bible into English in his free time. Prior to his health declining, he loved to be outdoors, and to go fishing. He also had a love for music and enjoyed singing and playing his guitar. He liked to watch tv, especially the Harry Potter series, or cartoons. Johnny will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved him.
Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Paul Mathis, and his brother Marty Mathis.
He leaves behind his mother, Brenda Mathis; his son, Johnathon (Caileigh) Mathis; sister, Tina (Jeff) Boswell; grandchild, Sorin Mathis; niece, Angela (Justin) Weatherford; Nephews, Joseph Boswell, and Mikel Mathis; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Mitchell Funeral Home, beginning at 11:00 AM, with Brother Marlin Ray officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be private.
