Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – April 1, 2024 – A Jonesboro man was sitting behind bars Monday after a judge found probable cause to charge him with assaulting his girlfriend, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Jairo Noe Vallecillo, 36, of Jonesboro was charged by District Judge Tommy Fowler with aggravated assault on a family or household member, a class D felony, and misdemeanor first-degree interference with emergency communication.
According to the affidavit, police were called to Vallecillo’s residence about a domestic disturbance on Saturday, March 30. They found the victim had run down the street. When they talked to the 29-year-old victim, she was unable to move her left arm and had red marks on her neck.
The victim said Vallecillo had argued with her, pushed her into a bedroom wall and slapped and choked her until she said was unable to breathe. As she was fleeing, Vallecillo grabbed her phone and took out her sim card, so she was unable to use it.
The victim was taken to St. Bernards Medical Center for treatment to her wounds.
Fowler set Vallecillo’s bond at $25,000 and issued a no-contact order between him and the victim. His next court date is May 24 in Craighead County Circuit Court.
