Craighead County, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Feb. 11, 2025 – An Osceola man has been accused of physically assaulting a woman in Craighead County.

On Feb. 9, deputies with the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office regarding a possible aggravated assault at a home on Craighead County Road 706. They contacted the victim, who said she and 35-year-old Robert Freeman had a disagreement.

During the disagreement, Freeman reportedly barricaded the door shut and took the victim’s phone, making it so she couldn’t make phone calls. While taking photos of the victim’s injuries, she told deputies Freeman slammed her head into a table and held a knife to her throat, threatening to kill her and himself. The probable cause affidavit alleges Freeman also used a golf club to threaten the victim.

Deputies contacted Freeman inside the residence, and he was barricaded inside a bathroom, reportedly refusing to leave. After a “short struggle,” Freeman was taken into custody.

Freeman is charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of 1st degree kidnapping – false imprisonment, one count of terroristic threatening, one count of 1st degree interference with emergency communication and one count of resisting arrest.

He was given a $150,000 cash or surety bond and a court date of March 20. He’s being held in the Craighead County Detention Center.
