Bono, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Feb. 10, 2025 – A Bono man has been accused of punching a pregnant woman and knocking her unconscious.
On Feb. 9 around 9 p.m., deputies with the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a potential domestic disturbance. Dispatch was told that the caller was just passing by, but they’d seen a woman with blood running down her shirt from her nose.
When deputies arrived on scene, the victim approached them with blood on her hands, shirt/jacket and face. She told deputies that 26-year-old Jonathan Rowland punched her in the mouth and she didn’t know what had provoked him.
After deputies arrested Rowland and placed him in the back of a patrol car, they began to investigate more.
The victim told deputies Rowland had gotten mad about her leaving and began to “act out.” Rowland reportedly threw keys and then a remote at her face. He then approached her and punched her in the face. This knocked her unconscious, the affidavit said.
EMS arrived on scene and transported the victim to St. Bernards. Before she was transported, deputies asked if she was pregnant, and she told them she was.
While speaking with a deputy in the Interview Room at the Sheriff’s Office, Rowland said he would not speak with officers but made a comment stating he knew the victim was pregnant, the affidavit said.
Rowland is charged with one count of 3rd degree domestic battery involving a pregnant woman. He was given a $75,000 cash or surety bond and a court date of March 20. He is to have no contact with the victim.
