Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Feb. 5, 2025 – A Lake City man accused of possessing child pornography was given a $250,000 bond on Wednesday.
While standing before Judge David Boling, 47-year-old Micheal Dye was charged with one count of computer child pornography. This is a Class B felony and carries up to a $15,000 fine and/or five to 20 years in prison.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Sgt. Charles Garr spoke with Detective Brad Felkins on March 4, 2024, about a case involving child pornography that took place in Craighead County.
Felkins told Garr he was working a case involving sexual indecency with a child, and while examining the forensic photo dump, found nude photos of the victim he thought were taken at Dye’s home in Craighead County. The victim is under 16 years of age.
Felkins brought the phone dump to Garr on March 7, 2024. During a search of the photos, Garr found five nude photos of the victim in what appeared to be Dye’s bedroom. According to the affidavit, the bedroom had wood paneling and the paint on the bedframe was chipping into a “distinctive pattern.”
Dye had been previously arrested by deputies with the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office for the sexual indecency case out of Poinsett County on Feb. 22, 2024.
Garr watched Lt. Logan Thomas’s bodycam footage the day Dye was arrested, and in the footage, a bedframe identical to the photos in the forensic dump was seen, the affidavit said. He’d been out on parole in Poinsett County, but his parole was revoked and he was rearrested Feb. 4, 2025.
Dye was given a $250,000 cash or surety bond. If he makes bond, Dye must wear a GPS ankle monitor and have no contact with the victim. His next court date is March 21 at 8:30 a.m. He’s being held in the Craighead County Detention Center.
