Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – January 20, 2025 – Adventure lovers can pursue fun and exploration through a new program from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC), which has come up with a new way to explore nature thanks to the new Natural State Goosechase app, according to an Arkansas Game & Fish Commission press release.

The Goosechase will allow Arkansas families to open all sorts of adventures.

Eric Maynard, an assistant chief in the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Education Division who works with nature centers, said they have been using it for about a year on a local level.

“Each nature center was doing scavenger hunts – we are now ready to go to a bigger, statewide Goosechase,” he said.

The idea is to get outside and complete “missions” to gather points. These missions could include a visit to a nature center, catching a fish or going for a hike.

Three or four new missions will be added to the app each week. The chase, which began Jan. 1, will run through March 31, 2025.

According to a post on the Forrest L Wood Crowley’s Ridge Nature Center Facebook page, new missions are released every Monday. You can also checkout the leaderboard on their Facebook as well.

Now nature enthusiasts can download the free Goosechase app, which is available on both Android devices and Apple devices, to join The Natural State Goosechase with code 7BE8VB and then join “Team AGFC” to be a part of the competition.

Goosechasers who accumulate the minimum number of points required will be drawn for a prize package worth up to $1,000.

The press release also noted that anyone can register, and people using the app can see how others are using it and what they’re accomplishing. The missions will be created to appeal to everyone, from hunting and fishing to birding, hiking, paddling and exploring.

“It’s all about introducing people to AGFC programs,” Maynard said.
