Jonesboro residents can now catch the Red Wolves Express to A-State basketball games

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Jan. 16, 2025 – Jonesboro residents can avoid the hassle of parking and stay warm aboard the new JET trolleys as they head to Arkansas State University home basketball games throughout the season.

JET Marketing and Community Coordinator Shelly Anderson said while JET buses have provided rides to A-State football season games for a few years now, this is the first year for JET to run for the basketball season as well as the first season for the trolleys.

“Parking can sometimes be hard on the [A-State] campus so it’s not only safe and convenient to take the trolley buses but it’s definitely a fun family experience as well,” Anderson said.

This Saturday will be the second basketball home game to run. Both the men’s and women’s Red Wolves teams play, with the women’s basketball taking on the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks at noon and the men’s basketball going up against the Georgia State Panthers at 2:30 p.m. at the First National Bank Arena in Jonesboro.

Pick-up times start one hour before game time, which will be 11 a.m.

Pick-up locations include downtown Jonesboro at Cate and South Church Streets (free city parking lot) and on the A-State Campus near The Yard at the free campus parking lot.

Return trips will begin at halftime and end 15 minutes after the game. Drop-off and pick-up at First National Bank Arena will be on the yellow side and return trips will loop around, stopping at the downtown location first before heading back to the Yard.

“This helps to cut down on the buses trying to pull out and into traffic as it makes more right-hand turns,” Anderson said. “It cuts down on our time to not have to make those left-hand turns out into traffic.”

Regular fares apply, which are $1.25 for adult tickets ($2.50 round trip); $0.90 for A-State students; $0.60 for students under 18, seniors, and disabled passengers, and free for children under six.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at the City Collector’s Office on the first floor of the Jonesboro Municipal Building at 300 S. Church Street, or when boarding.
