Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – March 28, 2024 – A 20-year-old Florida man was arrested Tuesday, March 26, in connection with disappearance earlier this week of a 17-year-old female student from Jonesboro.

Sally Smith, public information specialist with the Jonesboro Police Department, said Dallas Gage Roberts of Navarre, Florida is being held in the Santa Rosa County, Florida jail awaiting extradition to Jonesboro on charges of interference of custody, a class C Felony.

Roberts was extradited to Arkansas on Friday, March 29, by a private transport company and was arrested. He is currently being held in the Craighead County Detention Center, where a judge set his bond at $1 million.

On Monday, April 1, District Judge Tommy Fowler lowered Roberts’ bond to $35,000 and issued a no-contact order between Roberts and the victim after finding probable cause to charge him with the felony.

The student was last seen shortly before noon on Monday, March 25, as she got into a silver car with a male.

The girl was found in Gulf Breeze, Florida, on Tuesday, March 26. Her parents drove down later Tuesday to pick her up and return her to Jonesboro.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the victim met Roberts in Florida earlier in March when the victim went there with her father. After returning to Jonesboro, the victim got into an altercation with her mother, who seized the teen’s cell phone.

Friends of the victim told police that she had made plans for “her boyfriend” to come get her in Jonesboro and take her back to Florida.
