Brookland, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Dec. 26, 2024 – Officers with the Brookland Police Department were dispatched to the Brookland High School on Christmas Eve.
Doug Forman, Director of Security, told dispatch that an unknown subject had entered the school building. He provided a description of the person to law enforcement.
It turns out there were two subjects, a man and a woman. As officers approached, they ran to a vehicle in the parking lot. Officers caught up with the suspects before they could drive off. The man is currently on parole with a search waiver on file.
The man had a meth pipe on him and the woman had a weed pipe on her. Meth was also found in the vehicle. As they were being interviewed separately, both suspects said the meth belonged to the other person.
After looking into the incident, officers reported that the two subjects were lawfully at the school performing contracted labor, so they weren’t charged for breaking and entering. Their keys to access the campus were returned to the school.
The woman was charged for possession of meth and meth paraphernalia but was released on her own recognizance and was told not to socialize with the man. She is also not to consume drugs or alcohol. The man was given a bond of $75,000 cash/surety since he’s on parole. Their court date is Feb. 28.
