Monette- Deloris Jean Prince Edwards, 88, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024 at Monette Manor. She was born October 11, 1935 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to the late Berlin and Jessie Mae Davidson Prince. Deloris worked for many years in the Circuit Clerk’s office for Craighead County. She was of the Baptist faith.
From Deloris notes of her life, “I’ve had a good life went places and seen things that a lot of people will never get to do. I never met a stranger. God has been good to me, he blessed me with a good loving husband who I still miss. Two sons who I love very much and grandchildren who have brought joy to my life!”
She was also preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years, Terry Edwards in 1997; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Edwards; brother, Eddie Dean Prince and two great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Terry Michael Edwards (Pam) of Jonesboro and David Paul Edwards (Sandy) of Monette; grandchildren, Jason Edwards (Tamra), Ashley Mays (Jonathan), Colby Edwards (Katie), Morgan Edmisten (Matt), Chris McFarlin and Tyler Stone (Chelsie); great-grandchildren, Alex, Taylor, Bentley, Xavier, Ayla, Maggie, Jordan, Ella, Lillian, Carson, Caleb, Payton, Luna, Deglan and Rowan; great-great-grandchildren, Oliver and Maria; two nieces, Pam Benham and Connie McDonald and many friends.
A celebration of her life will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2024 at Gregg Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Monette Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to time of service Friday at the funeral home. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Terry Edwards, Jason Edwards, Colby Edwards, Matt Edmisten, Jonathan Mays and Jeff Peede.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
