Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Dec. 20, 2024 – With just three days left to ring its bells, the Salvation Army in Jonesboro is facing a critical shortfall in its 2024 Red Kettle Campaign.
The Salvation Army is aiming to raise $100,000 before Christmas Eve. The group has raised $42,891.80, so it needs $57,108.20 to hit its goal.
“This year has been especially difficult for many in our community,” said Capt. Charles Smith with the Salvation Army. “Rising costs and economic challenges have left people living paycheck to paycheck, with little room to give. At the same time, we’re seeing a growing demand for assistance. We’re hopeful the incredible generosity of our community will help us close the gap before the season ends.”
The familiar sounds of Salvation Army bells will continue to echo outside local stores through Christmas Eve on Tuesday, allowing residents to contribute to this cause.
“Every donation, no matter the size, contributes to the impact of providing hope to those in need,” Smith said, encouraging individuals, families, and businesses to continue their generosity in the campaign’s final days.
Smith added that the Red Kettle Campaign ensures essential programs and services continue to support individuals and families in Jonesboro year-round. Funds raised can provide food for families, help keep the heat on, or help someone regain financial stability.
