Jimmy Van “PawPaw” Walker passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at his home in Brookland, AR.

 

Jimmy was born July 12,1944 in Tuckerman, AR to the late Reba and Charley Walker. He was a proud Vietnam veteran who served honorably as a Sergeant in the US Army. Upon returning home from Vietnam, he worked as a welder for Brown-Jordan before retiring.

 

As a young man, Jimmy loved horses, the outdoors, and fishing and hunting, especially with his family.

 

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his sisters Charlene Hutchins and Betty Neldon and his son-in-law Jerry Amonds.

 

Jimmy is survived by three children, Charles Walker (Stacy) of Jonesboro, Tommy Walker (Cynthia) of Newport, and Lisa Amonds of Alicia; sisters, Peggy Bennett, of Cabot, Johnnie Sue Martin, of Newport, and Sandy Pigg (Keith), of Bradford; grandchildren; Paige Poe, Candace Poe, Dominoque Baldwin, Jordan Walker, Rylee Walker, Erin Walker, Cody Tidwell and nine great grandchildren.  Many knew him as PawPaw, and this was especially for Zane Ruddell, Isabel Newby, Bentley Eubanks.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 21 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tuckerman Faith Assembly of God in Tuckerman.
