Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Dec. 4, 2024 -Annie Camp EAST students are preparing for their annual EAST Feast on Dec. 20 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Annie Camp Junior High School (ACJH).
EAST Feast began with just a couple of students wanting to make their community grow closer together, so EAST students came up with a community meal around the holidays.
Carolina Granara, a ACJH EAST student and EAST Feast committee member, said they want to invite everyone in the community to the meal.
“They can come out and enjoy time in fellowship with the citizens of Jonesboro. We currently have Popeyes, Lost Pizza, Cheddars, The Parsonage, Southern Confections and Andy’s donating food for the meal,” she said. “This is so that people can come out and enjoy a warm meal if they don’t have enough money to buy one or they just want to come out and enjoy themselves,” she stated.
Granara also noted some new activities to this year’s event, including corn hole, bingo, ornament making, and snowflake making. In addition, the JETS bus system will provide free rides to the meal, dropping people off at the Hester Street stop, since it is closest to the school.
ACJH EAST student Isabella Mata said she felt the EAST Feast is important because it brings the community together to enjoy a nice warm meal.
Granara agreed, “It is important that our community comes together because if a community does not get along then it will not be civil. I think that EAST Feast is a great way for people to come and meet one another, enjoy a hot meal, and overall have a good time.”
