Wanza D. Vermilye died at the age of 104 in Paragould, Arkansas. She was the youngest child born to William P. Dennis and Sioda Bradley Dodd Dennis in Walcott, Arkansas on August 27, 1920.

Wanza is preceded in death by half-brothers Wesley E. and Robert Dodd. Sisters Eula M. Lashley, Wilma (Polly) Guntharp and brother Allie H. Dennis. Allie’s son James Dennis, Eula’s sons Dennis (Denny) and William (Bill) Lashley.

She is survived by Eula’s three remaining children Sherry Lashley, Jim Lashley and Janie Selby. Daughter-in-laws, Jo Lashley (m. Denny) and Ila Lashley (m. Bill). Polly’s daughter Charlotte Moss and countless 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation nieces and nephews that loved and adored her.

Wanza was a devoted Christian and the oldest member of Harvest Baptist Church.

She will be greatly missed.

Services will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home with Pastor Laramie LeQuieu officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion cemetery in Walcott, Arkansas. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Mark Bunch, Nick Lashley, Tim Myrick, Joey Massey, Todd Myrick, Danny Yarbrough, and Tim Bateman.
