Glenda Louise Ellis, 78, of Paragould, passed from this life on November 14, 2024, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Glenda was born on September 24, 1946, in Rector, Arkansas to Willard and Almarita (Harmon) Lock. She worked for Wise Company as an inspector, and in her later years, volunteered at the Senior Center in Rector, Arkansas. Glenda was a selfless caregiver and nurturer of people, plants and animals. She was described as the sweetest woman anyone had the pleasure of meeting. Glenda’s favorite shows included Law and Order and Forensic Files. She enjoyed watching American Idol with her husband, Floyd. Glenda was an avid baker, especially known for her no-bake cookies. She was a devoted wife of 60 years, a beautiful mother, and a loving grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Almarita and Willard, she was preceded in death by her favorite aunt Mead and uncle Merl.

Glenda is survived by her loving husband, Floyd Ellis; daughters, Connie and her husband Jim Taylor of Nashville, Tennessee, and Brooke Ellis and her partner Nikki Fisher of Nashville, Tennessee; brothers, Wayne and his wife Pam Gaible of Chicago, Illinois and James and his wife Alice Lock of Mountain Home, Arkansas; grandchildren, Zachary Taylor of Boston, Massachusetts, and Connor Taylor of Houston, Texas; and her youngest four-legged daughter Pumpkin.

Services will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home with Brother Kim Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery in Paragould, Arkansas. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jim Taylor, Wayne Lock, Zachary Taylor, Verl Mitchell, Connor Taylor, and Jamie Mitchell. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Mitchell Funeral Home.
