Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) Nov. 4, 2024 – A Jonesboro woman was charged with battery on Monday after allegedly kicking officers in an attempt to resist arrest.

On Nov. 2, Jonesboro police responded to Midnight Rodeo in reference to a 21-year-old woman acting disorderly. She was asked to leave the business multiple times, but reportedly ordered another drink and refused to leave.

After officers repeatedly told her to leave, the woman allegedly began yelling obscenities and arguing. It was after this that the officer told the woman she was under arrest for disorderly conduct. When the officer attempted to handcuff her, she resisted until she was eventually restrained. She was taken outside to await transport by another officer.

While waiting, she slipped off one of the handcuffs, so she needed to be resecured. As she was being taken to the patrol car, the woman reportedly began kicking at officers, hitting their legs and narrowly missing their groin areas.

Upon arrival at the Craighead County Detention Center, the woman refused to enter the facility voluntarily, so officers had to physically carry her inside. While in the building, she reportedly attempted to kick multiple corrections officers and attempted to bite one.

The woman is being held at the Craighead County Detention Center. She was given a court date of Dec. 17 at 8:30 a.m. She was charged with one count of second-degree battery, one count of disorderly conduct and one count of resisting arrest. She was given a bond of $2,500 cash or surety.
