Jonesboro, AR (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Sept. 25, 2024 – Main Street from Washington Ave. to Huntington Ave. has been temporarily closed due to a possible building safety concern.
The building, located on 100 Main St., has a bulge facing Main Street about two-thirds of the way up.
The City of Jonesboro announced the closure Wednesday around 3:15 p.m. The road will be closed until further notice. Pedestrian traffic in front of the building has also been restricted.
“We were notified that there was, looked like a bulge in the building,” said fire marshal Jason Willis. “To play it safe we’re going to shut the street down for the time being.”
