Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Sept. 24, 2024 – The October Neighborhood Clean-Up has been scheduled for Oct. 12 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Parker Park Community Center, 1506 N. Church St. in Jonesboro.
This event, which is for Jonesboro residents only, is hosted by Jonesboro Code Enforcement, the Jonesboro Sanitation Department and the Keep Jonesboro Beautiful Commission, who will also be handing out free paper lawn bags while supplies last.
They will be collecting, including clothing, tires (limit 8, no rims); basketball goals; furniture such as chairs, beds, tables, printers, mattresses, TVs, computers, etc.; appliances such as washers, dryers, stoves, water heaters, refrigerators, etc. (freon and compressor must be removed); and paint cans (empty with lids removed and residue must be dry).
City Staff will be on-site to offer assistance in unloading items into dumpsters.
They will not be accepting any of the following items: yard waste/limbs, tractor/semi tires, hazmat materials, oils, fluids, batteries, flammable or corrosive materials, automotive parts, motors, transmissions, or remodeling/construction materials (single pieces acceptable).
The city’s year-to-date Neighborhood Clean-Up results (from January to September) totaled 74.42 tons of trash and 599 tires collected in 2024, according to a post on the City of Jonesboro Facebook on Thursday.
