Little Rock, AR (JonesboroRightNow.com) – February 5, 2024 – Entergy Arkansas, in collaboration with nonprofit partners, is pleased to announce its participation in Super Tax Day events across the state, offering free tax return assistance to qualified customers. This initiative is part of the federal Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and aims to provide valuable support during the tax season.
The largest Super Tax Day event for Arkansas will take place on Saturday, February 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Our House, located at 302 E. Roosevelt Rd., Little Rock 72206. IRS-certified volunteers from Entergy Arkansas and other organizations will be available to help eligible individuals and families with tax preparation. While appointments are recommended and can be scheduled online, walk-ins are also welcomed.
Brandi Hinkle, representing Entergy Arkansas Corporate Social Responsibility, emphasized the importance of these events in supporting the community: “Our Super Tax Day events are an important part of our commitment to making a difference in our communities and meeting our customers’ needs in ways that improve their everyday lives.”
The assistance provided during these events extends beyond tax preparation. Qualified individuals and families, including those with a 2023 income of less than $64,000, taxpayers with disabilities, and limited-English speaking households, will receive counseling on tax credits and deductions they may be eligible for, including the federal Earned Income Tax Credit.
In addition to tax preparation services, customers will have access to various resources and information from partner organizations such as the Arkansas Foodbank, Arkansas Department of Human Services, and Legal Aid of Arkansas, among others.
For more than 15 years, Entergy has been providing free tax preparation services for low-to-moderate income customers at VITA sites throughout the Entergy region, including locations across Arkansas. Additional Super Tax Day events will be held throughout February and March at various locations across the state.
Customers unable to attend these events can still receive free, in-person tax preparation services by scheduling an appointment at one of the several Entergy-sponsored VITA sites through April 15. A schedule is available online at www.entergy.com.
