Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Sept 4, 2024 – On Tuesday, September 3 at approximately 10:30am, the Jonesboro Police Department responded to a reported robbery at 2001 Belt St in Jonesboro. The initial report indicated that a robbery had just occurred at this location.
The report states that the victim of the robbery, Teresa Beebe, a 63-year-old disabled woman, was residing at the reported address.
Listed property that was stolen includes cell phones, a wallet, a driver’s license, a Social Security card, cash, and an iPhone 13.
The investigation identified Joshua Pearson Vann, a 21-year-old male, as a suspect in the case. Vann was arrested at 11:55am. He was taken into custody without incident and is facing charges related to aggravated residential burglary, aggravated robbery, and theft.
Another suspect, Benjamin Jasper Valeary, a 30-year-old male from Jonesboro, was also arrested in connection with the robbery. Valeary was arrested 1:54pm.
A full report request has been sent to JPD by JRN, but that request has not been fulfilled at this time.
Valeary was given a temporary bond of $1,000,000. Vann was given a temporary bond of $500,000.
Valeary went before Judge Boling on Wednesday on prior FTA charges, but will see Judge Fowler on Friday for a probable cause hearing on these charges.
Vann will also be seen on Friday for the Aggravated Robbery charges.
UPDATE 9/6/24: During their probable cause hearings on Friday, Judge Fowler advised Vann and Valeary that their previous bond amounts would remain.
Additional details about the incident were also released. The probable cause affidavit states that on September 3, Jonesboro Police responded to an apartment complex on Belt St for a robbery that just occurred. Two victims told police that two black males came inside the residence, one pointing a handgun at them, and demanded money and phones. The suspects got away with multiple phones and property that belonged to both victims. Officers eventually located a male in the area that matched the description of the suspect and arrested Joshua Vann. Further investigation led officers to develop Benjamin Valeary as the second suspect, and pinpointed him as the suspect who allegedly pointed the gun at the victims. A third suspect was also involved according to video footage and was identified as Derrick Harris.
