J.D. “Jimmy Jay” Davidson, 75, of Jonesboro, died Monday, September 2, 2024, at Lake Side Nursing Center. He was born in Joiner, Arkansas but spent most of his life in the Jonesboro area. He was of the Baptist belief. He was an auctioneer by trade but enjoyed spending time with his family. Poker was a hobby, especially Texas hold’em so was horseshoes, dominoes, and anything you could bet on. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-dad, one granddaughter and one sister-in-law.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Kimberly, of the home; sons, Jason Davidson and wife Crystal; Jacob Bern all of Jonesboro; daughters, Melisa Bashford and husband, Paul of Mountain Home; Tammy Sonterre and husband Scott of Bono; Michelle Davidson of Bay; Brooke Grisham; Ziva Williams both of Jonesboro; brothers, E.J. Davidson of Marmaduke; William Davidson of Bono; 15 grandchildren, Blakelynn Sullins, Brocklynn Sullins, Brentlynn Sullins, Blesslyn Davidson, Aviana Sheard, Tiffany Hall, Earnest Hall, Ashley Myer, Amanda Rogers, Jerry Lowery, Tristan Davidson, Jayden Davidson, Devyn Locken, Raven Davidson, and Brooklyn Sullins, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be 10:00 Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with John Lawrence officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with Jason Davidson, Roy Davidson, E.J. Davidson Jr., Scott Sonterre, Earnest Hall, E.J. Davidson, Gavin Hall and Blakelynn Sullins serving as pallbearers.
